It can be hard to be healthy on vacation because that's when people tend to just do whatever, and totally scrap the good things they do at home. When I first got into health, I was doing the blood type diet, and for six months, if it said no black olive or no avocado, which are both “avoids” for blood type O, I didn't eat a bite, and I felt great.
I felt wonderful, and my sister lost over 60 pounds in the same six months, just by not eating “avoid” foods. Then we had this bright idea once we got healthy, and she got skinny, that we would just do the eating for your blood type Monday through Friday, and on the weekends we would eat whatever we wanted to. About a month later we were comparing notes, and we realized we felt terrible on the weekends, and then we started realizing that was not a smart idea.
When you go on vacation, there are always good options and options that are not so good for you. First of all, I tell people when they go on vacation, enjoy your vacation. You know, splurge a little bit, but not to the point of total demise with your stomach. If you have stomach issues, don't go eat everything you're not supposed to eat, and then suffer.
One of the things that people tend not to do on vacation is drink enough water. Water is super important, and it's important to have good quality water. If you drink a lot of water, you're already helping yourself. You're helping your body eliminate the things that you've put in your body. It helps flush everything through. It makes the transit time much faster, so it's not affecting you for so long.
When I travel, I take always Tonic Alchemy in my suitcase. Tonic Alchemy has been my friend, like, forever. It's a super-food blend containing 91 different items, like chlorella, blue-green algae, spirulina, artichokes, asparagus, broccoli, etc. One scoop is giving you more nutrition than probably anything else you're going to eat that whole day. Put in a water bottle and drink your nutrition so that when you eat a piece of pizza or a hot dog or something like that, you've got the nutrition in you first.
I work with a lot of people that have chronic illness and serious complex disorders. They can be feeling fine, and then have like a half a pizza and just crash because there's nothing on that pizza that's good for them. The wheat's not good. The cheese isn't good. Tomatoes aren't good if you're blood type O. So that's not worth it.
If you are traveling to some foreign countries, you may want to take healthy food with you because you are not sure what will be available there. Also, be cautious about eating anything that could be cooked in water (pasta) or rinsed with water (fruits and vegetables) if you are not certain that the water is not contaminated.
When I travel, there are a few remedies that I take with me, such as a probiotic, a remedy for dysentery, and Arnica gel. I take a stomach remedy on trips and I don't even have stomach issues. I just know that when you're dealing with bacteria that you're not used to, it's nice to have. Also, if you’re going on a cruise, ginger can help with seasickness, and also acts as an anti-inflammatory. Once, I sprained my wrist on a trip and I just took ginger every few hours and I never needed a painkiller.
If you're going on a trip, you may want to contact me. Let me know where you're going because sometimes a bottle of ionic silver can save you on a trip. Tell me where you're going and I can suggest a little care package that you put in your suitcase. If you have a few basic things with you, it can make your trip much better.
