Himalayan Salt for Health

Himalayan salt is great for infections, candida, parasites, and much more. There's a great book you can purchase on Amazon called “Water and Salt,” and it lists the disinfectant uses of salt. I use chunks of Himalayan salt, dissolved in water (called Sale Sole, pronounced so-lay), which I think works better than granulated Himalayan salt for these purposes.

Himalayan salt is also high in nutrition and high in minerals. When you hear people talking about salt in a bad way, they're talking about sodium chloride, table salt, which is not the same.

I have a friend in Houston who is a naturopath. Once he showed me a very interesting experiment that he did. He had a glass dish with something in it that looked like a large turkey breast. He told me it was a fungus. If you think about taking a kombucha sliver, which is fungus, that’s what he started out with. He fed it the equivalent of one cup of sweet tea a month, and the sliver grew to this very meaty thing that had the color and size of a raw turkey breast.

Think about what you eat and drink daily that would be equivalent to one cup of sweet tea a month--rice, sugar, sweet tea, soda, beer, anything that turns to sugar would have fed this little mass of candida.

There are books that talk about cancer as a fungus. If they were to do a biopsy, and they say cancer, they're really saying you have a fungus. What feeds it is sugar, and a lot of times people go through cancer treatment and cancer protocols, and no one is saying change your diet. So if you are trying to get rid of any fungus, including cancer, it is super important to eliminate sugar and anything that turns to sugar (bread, pasta, pizza, cookies, crackers, brownies, etc.) because it feeds the fungus.

Anyway, back to the man with the fungus sample. I asked him what he was going to do with it. He said he was going to take it home, cut it into small pieces, and then test some of the more common cancer herbs and protocols for fungus to see what works the best. He put the small pieces of fungus in separate glass dishes, like a good chemist would do. In each dish, he put a different remedy, things like Cat's Claw, Himalayan salt, and colloidal silver (not the same as ionic silver). It was the Himalayan salt that had the fastest action. It killed it almost immediately--the fungus shriveled up. The other products did little or nothing.

Candida symptoms can be allergies, beer belly, a yeasty smell (if they go do an ion footbath, their footbath smells like beer or yeast), toenail fungus, fingernail fungus, jock itch, diapers rash, itchy skin, dandruff, colic, thrush, fatigue, and even joint pain in severe cases. It can be a breakdown of the immune system, and so candida should be taken seriously. I think everyone has some level of candida.

The way you get candida is generally from your mom. If your mom had candida when she got pregnant, the baby is usually born with candida. This shows up as recurrent ear infections, thrush, colic, diaper rash and cradle cap.  Things like strong antibiotics and steroids kill the friendly gut bacteria and then the bad stuff takes over.

A history of yeast infections, even sometimes a history of UTIs, can indicate a candida infection. Hanna Kroger had a test that you can do at home. Urinate in a plastic bowl, cover it with saran wrap, and put it in the refrigerator. The next day, if there's any kind of ring or buildup, that means you have a candida infection, and I would recommend a cleanse with Himalayan salt.

You can also use Himalayan salt in a spray bottle or Neti pot for irrigating the nose and sinuses.  It’s good for so many things! I've had a few cases of MRSA be resolved with Himalayan salt, where in one case, the man’s finger was going to be amputated because they couldn't get the infection under control. In those types of cases, I would recommend that you take it orally and also spray it topically.
