Mirror work
Look into mirror, make eye contact with yourself and say "I love and accept you exactly as you are" Discuss reactions- Hard? Foolish? Make you feel angry or embarrassed? Difficult? Made you cry? Can’t make eye contact with yourself? ----------------------- |
Core issue is how you feel about yourself. Do you criticize yourself? How? _______________________________________________ _ |
What is wrong with you? Make a list of ALL the things you think are wrong with you. |
Ex. Too short, small boobs, big nose, curly hair, oily skin, shape of toes, way you smile, your teeth, how you laugh, messy, unorganized, etc. Is list similar to "should" list? --------------------------- Where does this come from? (parents, siblings, etc.) ________________________________ _ |
Where did we get these ideas? (Unworthy, not good enough, not deserving, etc.) _________ _ |
Examine your past= mental housecleaning, some need it more than others, depending on how much work you've done already. Make a list of all things your parents said, verbal or implied, about was wrong with you? (Not creative, couldn't sing, stupid, body, negative messages, etc.) ------------------- |
Look at your list, all this is sitting in your subconscious mind, acting as a filter on what you project and attract into your life. Notice feelings in your body as you are thinking about these things. What is affected? How do you feel? |
Repeated negative experiences come from here and cause same symptoms over and over. |
Resistance We all have to deal with resistance to change. Changing ourselves is what we must do to change our lives. Am I resisting? How am I reacting to change? ____________________________________ _ |
Notice what is going on in your body when you think about change. Make notes -------- |
The thing we resist the most is usually the thing we need to learn the most. |
What or who do we blame? (Family, spouse, church or lack of time, money and education) |
Leave your friends and family alone during your own process. When the student is ready, the teacher always appears. Healing yourself will help yourself and others the most. Think about what percentage (%) you are willing to change now. If not 100%, why not? |
Procrastination is a form of resistance. Victims are stuck in their problems. "I am willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating this condition" - This affirmation will help dissolve the problem you created. |
Affirmation - "All my changes are comfortable and easy and fun. All is well in my life. I realize I have created this problem and I am now willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating this condition." Do you feel ready to move on? Really? _________________________________________ _ Willingness to release will get ball rolling. You control your thoughts, they do not control you. |

Emmett Fox exercise to release resentment - this is a lifetime exercise Close eyes and visualize a small stage and on that stage place the person that you resent the most. Allow yourself to see this person clearly and when you do, see good things happen to this person, meaningful to them and see them smiling and happy, and be aware you have just dissolved a large chunk of resentment from within yourself. Now take that person off stage and put yourself there. See good things happening to you, see yourself smiling and be aware that the abundance of the universe is available to you at all times. Open your eyes. Forgiveness exercise- with mirror or partner The person I need to forgive is ________________ and I forgive you for ________ _ Work with whoever comes to mind, for multiple people and reasons. Keep going until you can't think of anymore. With partner, have the partner say "thank you and I set you free" after each time. Search in your heart for any injustices, forgive and let them go, continue until you can't think of anymore. Partners switch places. Then say out loud - "I forgive myself for ____.” Keep going until you can't think of any more things. This is a good exercise to do about once a week at first, then once a month to keep the rubbish out. Some people and events are easy to let go, some take more time. This is lifetime work, not a process. Life gets better as you do the work each time. |
